Anu was born in Finland. Her interest in photography started when she was a child. Her first camera was one of those pocket cameras, with which she started her photography in 1975 when she first visited the United States as an Exchange Student. After returning back to Finland, she joined the Photography Club to study and learn from more experienced photographers. She continued her studying of Photography and Printing in Finland, and while traveling in Scandinavia, Europe and United States.

Anu immigrated to the United States in 1980. Since then she has been studying photography and keeping up with the knowledge and technology as it gets more advanced. Her opinion is that the best school is practice and more practice. It is important to improve yourself in order to get better.

The latest improvement is Digital Photography, which gives an endless opportunity in this field, and makes the photography more interesting.
